TM & Partners has assisted Departments & Stores Europe AB (DSE) in connection with the transfer of its business in the department stores of Nordiska Kompaniet in Stockholm and Gothenburg to NK Retail AB. The buyer is a subsidiary to AB Nordiska Kompaniet which is a subsidiary to Hufvudstaden. Through the sale approximately 40 departments will be transferred in NK Stockholm and Gothenburg. DSE generated revenues of SEK 773 million in the financial year of 2019/2020. All employees, about 400, will be offered employment at NK Retail AB.

Törngren Magnell & Partners has assisted Mitsubishi Estate and Europa Capital, in a purchase of an attractive office project property in Stockholm CBD from AFA Insurance. The property is located on Sveavägen 32-36 and comprises approx. 7,000 sq. m. office area. This is Mitsubishi Estate’s and Europa Capital’s second purchase in Sweden.

Listings of Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (“SPACs”) have been popular in the US for a long time, including in the last decade. Despite high activity in the Swedish IPO market, with record breaking numbers of transaction and great demand for new IPOs (also for companies that are in early phase and not yet profitable), SPACs have yet to be introduced in Sweden. We have, however, noted an increased interest from clients around the possibility to launch a Swedish SPAC and in this memorandum, we outline the basic concept of a SPAC and describe key issues/hurdles to be considered in relation to Swedish SPAC listing projects.

The portfolio has a lettable area of ​​approximately 32,000 sqm. Halmstad University is the largest tenant with approximately two thirds of the total rental value.

TM & Partners has assisted Arwidsro in its acquisition of three properties in Sjöbo Väst and Skurups handelsplats from Melica Invest AB. The acquisition includes 9 330 square meters of lettable area with a total property value of 125 MSEK.  The properties hold a strong mix of tenants such as Coop, Lloyds Apotek and Dollarstore.
