ESG & compliance

We assist our clients in navigating the multifaceted regulatory landscape that is emerging in the field of sustainability.

The field of sustainability, often also referred to as ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), encompasses a wide range of issues that arise in the area of business law. We have a great understanding of the increasing demands that companies face today, and see the sustainability perspective as an integral part of our offering. Our advice includes compliance with international guidelines, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as compliance with EU, national and industry-specific regulations.

Our sustainability perspective also allows us to provide advice that enables our clients to responsibly address the risks that may arise in cross-border transactions, and we have experience in dealing with legislation relating to foreign direct investment, security, and sanctions, among others.

Our offer includes:

  • Sustainable finance: the Taxonomy Regulation, the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
  • ESG and compliance in transactions (M&A): assisting in the due diligence of companies and review of transactional arrangements from a compliance and sustainability perspective, including issues related to human rights, labour conditions, anti-corruption, foreign direct investment, security and sanctions.
