Expo Real 2026: Our reflections from Munich

At this year’s Expo Real in Munich, TM & Partners was represented by colleagues from our Real Estate, Infrastructure and Banking & Finance teams. We met with clients, investors and lenders to discuss transactions, financing and project development, and gained a clear picture of what is currently shaping the market.

Three themes recurred in this year’s conversations:

  • AI continues to transform both the real estate sector and the legal profession as a whole. Among buyers of legal services, there is a clear demand for fresh thinking, both in terms of ways of working and law firms’ pricing models.
  • Rising interest rates continue to weigh on the real estate market, and many real estate companies and investors are therefore showing increased interest in value-add and development projects.
  • Geopolitical uncertainty is also driving strong interest in defense infrastructure and other critical assets, which was particularly evident within Expo Real’s new initiative, InfrastructureNow.

We are returning home with new insights and valuable connections. A warm thank you to everyone whom we had the opportunity to meet, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
